The Odds.
We are a music and dance interest group under the youth wing of BW Monastery.
We’ve dabbled a little in music production, songwriting as well as dance choreography, all with the intention to make Buddhist music as well as positive music accessible to the mainstream young adults and youth. We’d like to think of ourselves as an open platform for young music and dance enthusiasts to find fellowship and to spread positive values through song and dance.
Formed in 2016 with the aim of reinvigorating Buddhist music with the celebrative spirit of the younger generation, we strive to create a soundscape that is not only reflective of peacefulness and serenity in Buddhist practice, but also other spiritual experiences such as unfaltering conviction, passionate resolve as well as the exhilaration that comes with conquering a stubborn affliction. With this in mind, we draw inspiration from various genres to reimagine some of our favourite Insightful Praises.
Through the shared experience of music, we hope to conjure a sacred space where the hearts’ longing for wisdom, compassion and strength can be satiated and therein, find renewed zest and a deeper understanding of life.
1. We provide a platform for like-minded youths to brainstorm, collaborate, share and perform music and dance pieces with elements of Dharma.
2. Japalang youths and young adults who have an affinity and passion for the performing arts and related work. :)

How can I Join?
We’ve been on hiatus for a while now, but we do get together for projects now and then. We’d like to remind you to manage your expectations, its mostly self-directed learning and team-based projects for now. :)
